The Digital Cyber Task Force of the U.S. Attorney General’s Office has assembled the guidelines, officially calling them: Cryptomoeda: an enforcement structure, according to a statement by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) on October 8.

The statement explains:

„The Framework provides a comprehensive overview of emerging threats and enforcement challenges associated with the growing prevalence and use of cryptomoreds; details the important relationships that the Department of Justice has built with regulatory and enforcement partners both within the US government and around the world; and describes the Department’s response strategies. “

The new guidelines come after the DoJ and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) commanded a series of actions against the BitMEX crypto derivatives exchange, citing several illegal activities.

„Cryptomeda is a technology that can fundamentally transform the way humans interact and how we organize society,“ Barr says in the statement. „Ensuring that the use of this technology is safe and does not endanger our public or national security is of vital importance to America and its allies.
